In October 2018, Advanced Recovery Systems announced a partnership with Cooper University Health Care to build a new state-of-the-art, 90-bed inpatient treatment facility in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This facility, The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper, now delivers compassionate, evidence-backed care for substance use disorders and co-occuring mental health conditions.

Ricardo GalindoRicardo Galindo ★★★★★ This was my first (and God-willing, my only rehabilitation Center) and I could not have been more blessed that it was. EVERYTHING was amazing..!! The facility, the staff, the groups, the attentiveness, and most importantly: the care. They truly have angels working in that facility. The bathroom and rooms (the entire place) is impeccable. Howard, Edwin, Jenny, and Sofia do an amazing job at keeping things pristine.The food is incredible, the kitchen was understaffed while I was there. But we were never lacking anything AND I think I only had the same meal less than twice while I stayed there ( full week of boarding and 30 days in residential). Maybe we missed ice cream for a day or two.. but we could live without it (I gained 10 lbs of weight - HEALTHY weight *cough*- my first week in detox the food was so good)I had an amazing therapist, Erika. She is a straight shooter, something that a lot of us need to have in these times; where more often than not, we have been lying not only to those around us but to ourselves. However, all the therapist are of the same caliber.. Leigh Ann, Tiffany, Taylor, Michael (he’s another no BS type of therapist and says it how it is, yet in touch with his empathy), Brittany, and Caitlyn. Tiffany and Caitlyn also are the ones involved with running the Trauma Group (if you are interested in that part of recovery). They will more often than not meet you were you are a push you further than you think they can.The BHT’s are also amazing, and are there to help you.. The trifecta of Kevin’s (there are three and all are amazing! - must be the name 😅). But Kevin, the head of the BHT’s is just a powerhouse that gets it done, then there is Big Kev (who I believe is reaching his 27th year in sobriety at the time I am writing this review) and Afro Kev, which is just a man that works with his heart (and making him laugh just brightened my day). And all the other BHTS (Alex, Aliya, Asyiah, Nala, V) , they really work with empathy at the forefront. There was only one that acted like he had worked at a Correction’s facility before and isn’t obviously in recovery and acts like it, he goes by “Dom”; which I find fitting. (Was not thinking of adding this on the review, but it’s a review; MY review.)You cannot forget the heart of your medical recovery, the nurses and doctors. Raven was my admitting nurse (one of the last people to see me drunk 😅) was a sweet sweet soul - they all are- . But you had amazing nurses at all times. Gina, Shadia, Ms. Laury, Matt, Phil and Taysha to name a few that stick out in my mind. You are in good hands with them. The doctors were also working tirelessly to get you prescriptions. I got taken care of by Dr. chase and he put in a script for me for a foot cream that I needed. They are also gems that are there to help you with the best of their ability. Oh and the head of the nurses Chuck and Christa were amazing too!And the supervisors were incredible as well, Melissa and Jenn were phenomenal. They were always super kind and you can tell that they are extremely caring above all! Also, the CEO Heather is amazing, very down to earth and she is the one that ensures that things continue running flawlessly from the top.And you can’t forget the amazing Peer recovery Specialists, and your recreational and SMART recovery facilitator. Ty and Matt are the peer recovery specialists and they do an AMAZING JOB. Always wearing their heart on their sleeves and will always lend a ear and guide you if you need guidance. And Carolyn, that woman is just so special to me, she does this job because she loves it and you can feel the love behind her work (and her words). She is the perfect person to introduce you to SMART recovery and to bring you activities to do during your Rec time. She got me into diamond painting!Anyway, I will close off by saying: choosing Recovery village might be the easiest thing you have to do in your recovery! God be with you!*almost forgot my case worker Nicole, who worked tirelessly and got me into a beautiful sober living!
